§ 5. [CONTINUATION OF OFFICERS - ELECTION.]

(A) The elected officers of the city who held office on the effective date of this Charter, shall continue to hold the offices to which they were elected for the balance of the terms to which they were elected and shall conduct their several offices subject to the provisions of this Charter.
(B) A regular city election for the election of officers shall be held on the first Monday in April in the year 1964. At such election there shall be elected one member of the Council from each Council district and one member of the Council at-large, who shall serve for a term of one year. Thereafter, members of the Council and the Municipal Judge shall be elected as in this Charter provided.
